HSI opt to send full complement of six eventers to WEG

HORSE SPORT Ireland (HSI) has opted to send the full complement of six horses to compete in the eventing competition of the Alltech World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA.

It announced its decision yesterday, as high performance manager Ginny Elliot confirmed the following squad will carry Irish hopes: Mark Kyle (Step in Time), Elizabeth Power (Kilpatrick River), Michael Ryan (Ballylynch Adventure) and his wife Patricia (Fernhill Clover Mist), Camilla Speirs (Portersize Just a Jiff) and Sam Watson (Horseware Bushman). Reserve riders are Jayne Doherty (The Only One) and Captain Geoff Curran (The Jump Jet).

HSI had named the six in June, with the intention of dropping one ahead of the competition, which begins on September 30.
