REGULAR readers will have become (perhaps wearily) aware that I believe all of modern United life can be illustrated using similes from either World War Two or The Simpsons.

Sunday evening led me inexorably to the latter: class bully Nelson is on the receiving end, for the first time ever, of his nerd-mocking ‘Ha-ha!’ catchphrase.
