Bolt out for the season
The Jamaican triple Olympic champion was diagnosed with a tightness in his lower back and has followed medical advice by pulling out of the IAAF Diamond League meetings in Zurich and Brussels. Bolt’s management company confirmed he has recovered from the Achilles injury which disrupted his training earlier this year. But the 23-year-old was told by a doctor in Munich he would risk injury to his hamstring or calf if he continued to race with a back problem.
Bolt had already spoken about giving himself an “easy season” this year because his focus is firmly trained on the 2011 World Championships and the 2012 Olympics.
