Spike stepping it up as fight night in Glasgow beckons

GARY “SPIKE” O’SULLIVAN travels to London next week for a Frank Warren press conference to announce details of his next fight, scheduled to take place in Glasgow the first week in September.

The Irish middleweight champion got the invite just two days after his victory over French light middleweight, Sylvain Touzet, on the Yanjing Beer Fight Night at Neptune Stadium, when referee David Irving stopped the fight 34 seconds Round 4 after O’Sullivan had put his opponent on the canvas for a second time.

“I had been expecting it because I had already met Frank Warren in London two weeks earlier but it was still something of a shock when I was invited to London for next week’s official press conference,” he said.
