Sprint star Hession ‘looking forward to a big year’

PAUL HESSION will open what he has described as his “big year” in an unusual setting for a sprinter when he lines up for the 100m at the Great City Games on a specially laid track on the streets of Manchester’s Deansgate on Sunday week.

The Athenry man, who holds every Irish sprint record from 60m to 200m, indoor and outdoor, could add another to his list if he can get into the 150m, where he will line up alongside Tyson Gay.

“I am definitely in the 100m but I would like to get into the 150m,” Hession said.
