Sunny south the place to be

The Outlook: The weekend ahead will be sunny, crisp, cold and with little or no risk of rain.

Sunny south the place to be

All of this is due to a magnificent high parked over Ireland for the next few days. With a few lows parked around our coastline you could be fooled in to thinking that cloud cover will be pushed in and result in some rain but I have faith in this high to hold its ground for the next few days. The winds will veer from a pure northerly to a south easterly which will make for a biting wind chill. Temperatures will hover around the five degrees mark.

As for swell; it is a weekend to head to the south and south-east. The swell is being generated by the lows mentioned above but they are held well off shore by the high resulting in a weak long period swell. The swell direction is mainly that of the wind, so expect a 12 second south east running swell.
