CIÁRAN HEALY sent out a clear message to Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan ahead of tonight’s Irish middleweight title fight at the Neptune Stadium, warning the Corkman he did not travel from Belfast just for the trip.

“I am not here for the trip,” said Healy, who beat Lee Murtagh for the Irish light middleweight title at the Kings Hall three years ago.

“I have fought them all – I fought (James) DeGale the Olympic champion, I fought Andy Lee, I fought Jamie Moore – anyone who wants to get anywhere has to fight me first. And I’m ready for this fight. I fought in Belfast four weeks ago so I was already in pretty good shape but I prepared really well for this.
