IRELAND has emerged alongside Malaysia and Scotland as one of the countries offering to host Pakistan’s “home” series after the gun attack on Sri Lanka players in Lahore last month.

Cricket Ireland chief executive Warren Deutrom said: “Our aim is to heighten interest in cricket in Ireland as we build an argument that we are a viable cricket nation to step up to elite level.

To host Pakistan in limited overs internationals and even Test matches could only attract more interest in the sport.”
