THERE was much concern for jockey Matt O’Connor at Thurles yesterday, after he took a heavy fall five from home aboard Walkin Aisy in the Templemore Beginners Chase.

O’Connor was removed to hospital in Clonmel, under police escort. Last night he was reported to be still unconscious, but stable.

He was due to have a catscan and the results of that were to be assessed before a decision was made as to the possibility of moving him to another hospital.
