FastTrack blow to chicks service

THE delivery of day old chicks will be hit by the decision by Irish Rail to axe its inter-city courier service.

FastTrack blow to chicks service

A number of hatcheries have used the service for generations to send the chicks to poultry farmers around the country. But they now fear the company’s decision to end its FastTrack same day parcel express service at the end of this month, after 35 years in business, will cause considerable inconvenience.

Sean Kent, Arklow, Co Wicklow, said he has been in the business of hatching geese and ducks and sending them all over the country via the rail service for more than 15 years, and the loss of FastTrack will cause difficulties.
