Captain Conflict looks set to pull rank on rivals

THE opening session of the J P McManus Irish Cup at Limerick Racecourse yesterday had its usual quota of shocks with the biggest being the elimination of last year’s winner, Castlemartyr (unsighted) by Another Session.

However Castlemartyr was never going well in the course and may not have won even if he had not gone unsighted.

Another surprise was the defeat of the puppy King Saunders, who ran well at the National meeting. In a tight course he had to give best by a length to Cross Country.
