Bunboggon Nikita can clinch final spot

BUNBOGGON NIKITA can land the first semi-final of the Guinness Trophy at Curraheen Park tonight.

Denied by the narrowest of margins in the opening round, Eddie Wade’s charge made no mistake last week, recording a runaway 28.55 success.

Relatively lightly-raced, Bunboggon Nikita has scope for further improvement and can advance his claims here.

Clearwater Jack and Bay City Jack, separated by a length and a half in 28.75 last week, are the dangers.

The consistent Gold Mein can land the opening semi-final.

John Kiely’s 20-times winner pinged the lid when posting a 28.75 run last weekend and a similar performance should see him go very close.

Droopys Culprit, who didn’t enjoy the clearest of passages when a six and a half lengths runner-up behind Gold Mein, should benefit from a switch to the rails and reads the pick of the opposition.
