Showjumping Ireland registrations buck recession

THE chairman of Showjumping Ireland Ronan Corrigan yesterday said registrations were on par with last year, bucking the recession and a fee increase.

He said it also showed that members were accepting of the need for the across-the-board rise of €15 in the registration fee, which was required, as the previous five years had seen no change.

“Registrations are holding solid this year and, though, the €15 increase amounts to a rise of between 7% and 26% in the varying categories, I am glad to say that number of registrations is within 4% of last year,” he said.
