Kürten surprised by her World Cup qualification

JESSICA KÜRTEN qualified for the World Cup final last Sunday and then declared her surprise at the achievement.

Sure, she had four opportunities to put points on the Western European League scoreboard in 2008 in what proved to be a barren winter.

But that was matched by a feast when in the space of seven days she destroyed the opposition twice, at Leipzig and Zurich, to book her place in the Las Vegas final.
