Pocero looks the one to beat in Derby Trial Stake
Both stakes are extremely competitive with no greyhound standing out in either. However there were a few promising performances.
In the Derby Trial Stake Catuna Donie, Leigh Legend and Paco El Pocero caught the eye at the top of the card. Catuna Donie saw off Coshair Anton by a wide margin in his buckle while Leigh Legend looked good when getting the better of Clonaslee Boy by eight lengths. But perhaps the one to note most is Paco El Pocero, who impressed the clockmen when he had a big advantage over Golden Lad at the escape.
In the bottom half of the draw Rockey Valley had a good win over The Other Gang while Me Auld Buddy was never really troubled when putting paid to the chances of Austins Chubby when leading all the way for an easy success. On yesterday’s form Paco El Pocero and Me Auld Buddy will take a lot of beating and could make it to the final.
The Oaks Trial Stake looks even more open. At the top of the draw, So Sad. Knowsley Rosa, Tiny Mary, Marshals Tango and Cois Rumble did their chances no harm, while Cois Luna, Brendas Field, Cluais Amhain, Vacume Sheila and Shaneboy Stella all ran well at the bottom of the card. Knowsley Rosa may advance to Clonmel, with Shaneboy Sheila a possible final opponent.
