Concur can shrug off a poor draw

THE in-form Concur can shrug off a poor draw in the featured A7 Stakes final at Curraheen Park tonight.

In the wars when unplaced in his first two starts, Concur set the record straight in style last week. In the front rank throughout, he finished with a flourish to win going away in 28.86.

Concur has a trap four draw with which to contend but, clearly going the right way, can again be in front where it matters.

Go Ellis ran well when a six lengths second behind Concur in the heats but would be better suited by an inside berth.

Cry Freedom, in the wars when a place and a half a length behind Go Ellis, has plenty of room for improvement and may prove the biggest danger.

Rockforest Ruth, who came good at the second attempt in 29.24 last week, is also likely to progress and is another to consider.

The novice 750 contest can go to the consistent and well drawn Keoghs King. Trained by Bobby Barrett, Keogh King kept on after a bumpy passage when fourth in the Laurels Purse final and shapes as if this step up in trip will suit.

Eskimo Talent didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs when third last time. A drop in class and a switch to the inside should enable the Kathleen Murphy trained runner regain the winning thread in the seventh race.

The highly consistent Cluain Jo can also avail of a drop in class in the last race.
