Hyde reveals top promoter’s interest in ‘The Rebel’

DAN GOOSEN, one of boxing’s leading promoters, wants a slice of the Mike Perez action and, once “The Rebel” comes through Sunday night’s engagement in Killarney intact, he will travel to LA to meet him in person.

“Dan Goosen wants to promote Mike (Perez) and he has invited us to LA to meet him in November,” Gary Hyde confirmed. “He wants to promote Mike in the US. A lot of people are showing a huge interest in him and that’s hardly surprising.”

But it is working both ways and the organisers of Sunday night’s show have been forced to find an opponent after the defection of Mike Tyson “lookalike” Cliff Couser. The former world junior champion now faces a seasoned opponent in Argentinean Luis Oscar Ricail, who has 17 wins.
