Diego Meister set for glory
Diego Meister can enhance his reputation by taking the €4,000 to-the-winner Southern Sprint final.
The selection is unbeaten in the stake, following up a 17.49 first round run with a 17.83 effort last week, and, with an inside seed on his immediate left, looks booked for a dream run.
The inside pair, Compass Mikey and Tolerton Smasher, read the main dangers.
Compass Mikey came from behind to score by a head in 17.82 when the pair clashed last week and is better drawn on the rails here.
However, Tolerton Smasher was having only his second look at this circuit last week and may have greater scope than Compass Mikey.
Blackstone Bruce an overcome a host of rising stars to land the Diarmuid Coffey Unraced Stake.
Trained by Owen McKenna, Blackstone Bruce carded 28.89 before finish an unlucky second.
Blackstone Bruce, who runs from trap two, will need to be on his toes to clear the slick-starting King of Clubs on his inside but McKenna is brilliant at getting his runners right on the big night.
Mustang Mission impressed when beating Blackstone Bruce by five lengths in 29.29 but hasn’t been helped by a switch to the outside.
Maneens Boy should prove the main threat. John Kiely’s ace has done nothing but impress, recording back-to-back 28.91 and 28.94 wins.
