Clongeel can turn up the volume

THE fast-improving Clongeel Volume looks worth a wager in the second semi-final of the 4 Home Superstores A3 550 BG Stakes at Curraheen Park tonight.

Winner of an A4 stake at the beginning of the month, the selection turned in another smart effort when following up in 29.92 last week. Clongeel Volume has scope for further progress and a rails draw is another plus.

Rossa Star, always in control when carding 30.01 in the heats, rates the pick of the opposition.

Compass Seamus, never headed when beating Blakefield Rapid by half a dozen lengths, also in 29.92, can confirm the placings in the first semi-final.

Fast Assassin, a two lengths runner-up behind Clongeel Volume last week, is preferred to 30.23 heat winner Belindas Agent in the third semi-final.

Dazl Derry, who got off the mark at the fourth attempt in 29.18 last week, can go on improving in the A4 Stakes final.

Black Apollo, whose record reads two from two, can continue on an upward curve in the A4 575 Stakes decider.
