Loughnane was yesterday joined by Olympic 800m hopeful, David Campbell and Ireland’s newest 400m sensation Brian Gregan for the launch of the weekend’s Woodie’s DIY Senior Track & Field Championships in Santry.

Just back from a training stint at Font Romeau in the French Pyrenees, Olympic 20km race walker Loughnane, has been logging an average of 120 kilometres a week in training for Beijing. The Galway woman recently received a major boost when finishing 6th in the World Cup for Race Walking in Russia in a new personal best time of 89.17.
