Kenmare to host charity triathlon
The event is not for the elite — it’s a 300m leisurely swim at Kenmare Pier, an 8km cycle around Roughty and a 5km walk or jog around Tubrid — manageable for part-time triathletes.
The organisers stressed yesterday that this is a fun event for all ages, shapes and sizes. All proceeds will be donated to the Calcutta Charity, The Bridge Foundation. The Bridge Foundation educates and looks after Street Children in Calcutta.
The starting time for the event has been brought forward to 4pm to avoid a clash with the Kerry SFC match between Kenmare and Austin Stacks (7.30pm) in Fr Breen Memorial Park.
Entry forms can be got at Jam Café, Kenmare, Killarney and Ballyseedy, Tralee or participants can enter on line at Kenmaretri.com.
Registration will take place on the day of the event at Kenmare Pier between 12-00pm and 3pm. Further information can be had from James Mulchrone 087-9583611.
