Assassin can kill off rivals

BACKERS can enjoy a winning start in the A4 Stakes at Curraheen Park tonight by supporting Small Assassin in heat one.

Pat Kiely’s runner came good at the second attempt here in February, finishing strongly to land the spoils in 29.60. As the only wide seed, Small Assassin looks set for a clear run and can go on improving.

Heat two can go to Salubrious Ash. This three-times winner turned in a game effort when landing the odds in 29.30 last week and can continue on an upward curve.

There are a number of interesting sorts in heat three but a little on Cavies Shaw might not go astray. In the wars in his three starts, finishing fourth in 29.59 last time, Cavies Shaw can enjoy a change of fortune. Denis Fitzgerald’s Shedfield Magpie, an 18.07 trialist, can go in first time of asking in heat four.
