Stop press: drama has happy ending

Another column flying blind but, thankfully, I can intervene late and boast that we’re in the semi-finals.

Well really it was Steve Gerrard who intervened. This could get confusing but it matters little.

The drama does put one in mind of United’s treble, the night the Kop celebrated Juve’s goals while our team stumbled and creaked in a meaningless league game. United’s comeback was ignored in stony silence and Leicester’s winner was greeted with disinterested shrugs. When it’s that bad again, we’ll be entitled to moan.
