OLYMPIC hopeful Fionnuala Britton has admitted to a conflict of emotions surrounding the current unsettlement in Tibet and the Chinese handling of it.

The Wicklow athlete, who will compete in the 3000m steeplechase in Beijing, has followed the continuing struggles and like most is appalled by the loss of life that has occurred during the Tibetans protests against Chinese occupation.

Calls for a boycott of the Games are growing but the 23-year-old is not sure that this is a wise or practical course of action.
