Home, sweet home for Leeas Limerick set for showdown

HE MAY have been an hour late arriving but when Andy Lee walked in the door of his old club, St Francis ABC, on the corner of Mungret Street and Old St Francis Street, in Limerick, the reception was amazing and left one wondering just what it will be like when he enters the ring at the UL Arena on Saturday night.

“To walk in the door here this evening was special because this is a special place to me — it is like a second home,” he said as he prepared for a training session in the ring which is so familiar to him.

“There were periods of my life when I would have spent more time here in this gym than I would have spent in my own house. I would be in and out and I’d always be here in the evenings training so this is like a second home to me.
