NEPTUNE, without Gordon Fitzgerald, went close to claiming another big scalp as Abrakebabra Tigers came from behind to steal the game in the closing minutes of an enthralling NIVEA for MEN SuperLeague tie at Neptune Stadium last night.

The home side, with Matt Gorman turning in his best performance of the season and Pat Fitzpatrick producing another big game, led for most of a tense and exciting affair but, in the end, the craft of the Tralee side, driven forward by Kieran Donaghy and shunted by CJ Hadley, who had the game high of 35 points, proved just too much in a frenetic finish.

Tigers opened with a three pointer from Chris Jordan but that would be their only score for five minutes as Neptune took control with three baskets from Gorman and two three-pointers from Michael De Corso that left Tigers struggling.
