No opposing Robinho once more

Droopys Robinho is down as low as 7/4 (from early offers of 7/1) for the Cashmans Irish Laurels after a couple of top drawer runs. And expect the price of Fraser’s Blacks superstar to tighten further after tonight’s quarter finals of the Classic.

No opposing Robinho once more

Droopys Robinho has carried all before him to date, following up his runaway 28.08 first round win with a record equalling 28.03 run last week.

Despite being the worst drawn on the five inside seeds in trap five, Droopys Robinho has done nothing but impress so far and cannot be opposed in the third quarter final.

Roxholme Ryan looks the only serious threat to is kennel mate.

This lightly-raced sort impressed when scoring in 28.31 last week but is drawn on the ‘wrong side’ of the favourite. The in-form Nawhobberthadda looks the part in the fourth quarter final. The Consolitation Derby runner-up has really taken to his circuit, recording back-to-back 28.56 and 28.23 wins.

This middle seed will need to be on his toes from a trap six draw but he’s running at the top of his form and can prove equal to the task.

Farloe Jester and Uncle Jer merit respect but Catunda Deano may prove the main threat.

Paul Hennessy’s runner kept on well when a 4 and a half lengths runner-up behind Droopys Robinho last week and could be even more effective from the inside slot.

The second quarter final should chiefly concern the Hennessy pair, Tyrur Lee and Tyrur Laurel. Irish Derby second Tyrur Laurel goes into this on the back of 28.45 and 28.31 wins but a trap four draw could make life difficult.

In contrast, Tyrur Lee, impressive when scoring in 28.20 last week, is well drawn on the rails and this can swing it for him.

Catunda Harry can get his bid for classic glory back on track in the opening quarter final.

A clear-cut 28.29 heat winner, Owen McKenna’s national record holder completely miss timed his exit when second behind Tyrur Laurel last week.

He can bounce back at the expense of kennel-mate Express Comet who filled the runner up slot behind Tyrur Lee last time.
