Clearwater Jack can strengthen AIB claims
Denis Fitzgerald’s ace made it two from two in the stake and five from six overall when carding 28.52 last week, having posted a 28.64 effort in the opening round. Clearly a rising star, Clearwater Jack can hit his rivals for six!
The well drawn Superstar Bluie looks the pick of the opposition. This fellow was denied a clear run when second in 28.78 last week and should benefit from a switch to the inside.
Millabbey Colt, also on the upgrade, can keep his 100% record in the stake intact by taking the second semi-final.
Johnny O’Sullivan’s seven-times winner was never headed when carding 29.09 and 28.78 in recent weeks and looks booked for a dream run on the outside. Rebel Kewell, always prominent when a length runner-up behind Clearwater Jack last time, reads the danger.
Riverside Honcho, an impressive 28.66 first round winner and unlucky when third behind Rockland Royal last week, can turn the tables on that rival in the third semi-final.
Fitzgerald can also land the Cork GOBA Past Presidents Stake final with the improving Knockna Buakill. The selection bounced back to form last week, overcoming traffic problems to score unchallenged in 29.15, and should be even more effective from an inside draw.
