Valentine’s crunch for Sinclair

NEIL SINCLAIR hopes to relaunch his professional boxing career by beating Arek Malek from Poland at Cork City Hall tomorrow night.

The Belfast welterweight will celebrate his 33rd birthday a week later and three consecutive losses at this point in his career could mean early retirement. Last August he made a belated US debut at Colorado Springs where, after a lengthy lay-off, he was out of his depth against Jerome Ellis.

He was doing well enough when the American caught him with a bruising body punch in the sixth round.
