Trainer award for Linehan

JOHN A. LINEHAN (right) will be presented with the Trainer of the Year award for the third year in-a-row at Curraheen Park tonight.

The ultra consistent Blarney handler turned out 88 winners last year - a mighty achievement considering the competitivene edge at the track.

The Dog of the Year award goes to T. D. Cronin’s Laurels Consolation winner Hopper’s Fortune (Fortune Mike-Lyons Jill). The popular Newmarket owner had the satisfaction of seeing his most consistent tracker, also trained by Lenihan, enter the winners’ enclosure 11 times.
