JUMP in for Ardkill Jamie to see off his four rivals in an intriguing final of the Cashmans Bookmakers Irish Greyhound Laurels at Curraheen Park tonight.

Top trainer Paul Hennessy, with four Laurels wins under his belt already is odds on to make it five tonight - he is responsible for three of the five finalists - and Ardkill Jamie looks the percentage bet to do it for him.

The selection only joined Hennessy prior to the Irish Derby and went on to win the Consolation and first time out in the Laurels he set a national record of 28.03. He hasn't been at hone from outside draws since but back in trap one tonight he looks the part to land the €35,000 to the winner classic.

Droopys Electric looks the one he has to beat.

Ante-post favourite for the Derby, Droopys Electric boasts a 50% strike-rate in the event to date (28.14 and 28.19 wins in the first and third rounds respectively) and was unlucky not to add to his tally in last week’s semis, coming off worst in a bumping match between the opening bend when a length and a half runner-up behind Disco Stu in 28.30.

Versatile in terms of the trap draw (six of his 12 career wins have come from middle berth), trap three shouldn’t prove too big a burden and Pat Buckley’s ace looks sure to be in the thick of things.

The slick-starting Disco Stu comes into this in the form of his life, following back-to-back 28.34 and 28.30 wins, and will appeal to value scouts at 11-2.

Tyrur Lee, in four, would have preferred a draw closer to the rails but also merits serious consideration in light of a couple of eye-catching runs in defeat - he produced a career best 28.22 effort in the semis.

The absence of the 2005 winner Tyrur Ted (injured) means Oran Premier, in five, will have the wide spaces of the track all to himself.

He will be motoring when others have cried enough but, on recent form, may need luck in running to figure.

Whatever the fate of his trio in the Laurels decider, Hennessy can land the Cashmans Irish Laurels Consolation with Tyrur Paddy.

This one posted a 28.22 effort before making an unlucky exit in the quarter-finals of the Laurels and can gain compensation.

Movealong Alfie, none too clever at the break and denied a clear run at the opening bend when beaten three lengths by Tyrur Major last week, can turn the tables on that rival in the Irish Laurels Purse final.
