Khan demolishes Ryan with three knock-downs in 111 seconds
It was the Olympic silver medallist’s third fastest win and was only two seconds slower than his debut victory over David Bailey at the same venue in July last year.
Khan decked the durable Barrett with a sharp double right hand and followed up with a remorseless assault which sent his opponent down twice more and prompted referee Phil Edwards’ timely intervention. Khan showed more flashes of brilliance, but his true tests still clearly await and promoter Frank Warren is likely to respond by bumping the 19-year-old up to eight rounds in his next paid test.
