THE death occurred yesterday morning of well-known Irish greyhound owner Mick O'Donnell following a short illness.

A former garda and court registrar, Mick was a native of Limerick and enjoyed considerable success with his greyhounds.

He won the 2005 Irish St Leger with Redbarn Panther and also owned flying dogs such as Flashing Moment, Fact File and Clover Hare, among others.
