Sledge has too much pace for rivals

KRANKY SLEDGE, as expected, took the honours in the Dutchys Angel Tri Distance final at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

The Pat Kiely trained dog, an even monery chance in the ring, produced some nice early pace and was a couple of lengths to the good at the opening bend.

The chasing group never really looked like getting to Kranky Sledge, with Lyons Joy eventually taking the runner up spot - but all of six lengths behind the impressive winner who clocked a useful 31.55 for the 575 yard trip.
