Sledge set to hammer rivals in Tri-Distance

THE in-form Kranky Sledge can land the Dutchys Angel Tri-Distance Stake final, the feature on an interesting card at Curraheen Park tonight.

Unlucky when second in the opening round (stumbled at trap-rise), the selection rebounded in style last week.

In front early on, Pat Kiely’s runner underlined her superiority throughout, scoring by six lengths in 30.06.

Kranky Sledge has a three draw with which to contend but, if showing the same early dash, should prove equal to the task.

The unbeaten in the stake Ace Top reads the main danger. This fellow beat Kranky Sledge a length in 28.90 in the opening round and followed up in 30.19 last week. Clearly a progressive sort, Ace Top looks certain to make his presence felt.

The card also includes the semi-finals of the Munster Greyhound Supplies A4 Stakes and punters can have a winning start by supporting Beanos Legend in the opener.

Peter Mannix’s dual winner was having his first race at this venue when carding a career best 28.89 last week and can go on improving.

The second semi-final can go to the in-form and well drawn Gowlane Guest.

This fellow showed the opposition the way round in 29.17 last week and makes plenty of appeal from a rails draw.

Trackside Jo can also make it two from two in the stake in the third semi-final.
