Cragg set for a running battle

ALISTAIR CRAGG will arrive in Cork today geared for a battling performance in the 3,000m at tomorrow’s BUPA Cork City Sports at The Mardyke.

It will be the European indoor 3,000m champion’s first visit to Cork and he said yesterday he regretted he could not have come earlier to join his training partner, US steeplechase champion, Dan Lincoln.

“He kissed the Blarney Stone yesterday. I’d like to have done that,” he said pointing out that he flew into London to be with his parents for a time before embarking on his European campaign.
