Flintoff needs top order batsmen to support red-hot Pietersen

PREVENTING another Kevin Pietersen show was hot on the agenda as England and Sri Lanka prepared for the third npower Test at Trent Bridge.

Pietersen struck a scintillating 142 on an Edgbaston surface which proved problematic to the rest of his colleagues to set up England’s six-wicket victory last week.

Now captain Andrew Flintoff is calling on the rest of the top order to weigh in at Pietersen’s former county headquarters while Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene is scheming up plans to counter his threat.
