Most of the reaction from thinking people in the hurling world has been favourable. Hostile reaction has come mainly from predictable sources — i.e., managers showing public solidarity with team panels picked under the old system.

Some of this is role playing and will fade quickly as the better players and supporters look towards success and as new managers take over.
