Underdog Dott takes control in final slog at the Crucible

UNDERDOG Graeme Dott made a positive start in his bid to win a first major title as he opened up an 8-2 lead over Peter Ebdon at the Crucible Theatre last night.

In the afternoon the Scot and Ebdon required nearly three hours to complete just six of the scheduled eight frames in the best of 35 showdown before play was halted at 6.20pm.

Ebdon was 4-7-on with the bookmakers to repeat his 2002 world triumph.
