Blame French TV intransigence

JOHN ARNOLD’S ire regarding the forthcoming events of April 23rd cannot be attributed to a lack of sporting ecumenism on this island — European Rugby Cup Ltd, as opposed to the IRFU, set the meeting of Munster and Leinster for the same date as the National Football League finals.

Actually, his ire should really be pointed at French television’s intransigence for that particular clash of fixtures. And why on earth, irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the Lansdowne Road redevelopment, would the GAA wish to use it when it possesses one of the best sporting arenas in Europe?
