First for Fu in Bangkok tournament

Marco Fu claimed the £30,000 first prize when he beat John Higgins 5-1 to secure the first trophy of the new season in the Asia/World Challenge in Bangkok.

Fu lost his opening group game against Thailand’s Atthasit Mahitthi but then defeated the likes of Ken Doherty, Stephen Hendry and Chinese wonder boy Ding Junhui.
