Gold medal confusion as urine sample is stolen

CIAN O’CONNOR may be allowed to keep his Olympic Gold medal after a portion of the ‘B’ sample from his horse Waterford Crystal was stolen from a British laboratory.

Gold medal confusion as urine sample is stolen

In an incredible twist, it was revealed yesterday that a portion of the 'B' sample from O'Connor's horse went missing on October 21. It's believed that, while the blood sample was later taken to Hong Kong for testing, the urine sample has gone missing. The urine sample is central to O'Connor's case because it was the urine sample of the 'A' test which tested positive last month.

The Equestrian Federation of Ireland said last night that the case against O'Connor should now be thrown out if the full 'B' sample cannot be tested.
