Lee in command against Ebdon as Williams snatches slender lead

STEPHEN LEE took a commanding 6-2 lead over former world champion Peter Ebdon after the opening session of their best-of-25 second-round clash at The Crucible.

Lee, the world number nine, lost 13-12 to Ebdon when the pair met in the second round at the Embassy World Championship in 2002.

But Ebdon’s over-zealous victory celebrations angered Lee and the 2003 semi-finalist threatened to withdraw from the England team playing in the Nations Cup if his conqueror was included in the team.
