Waterpolo cup

THE 85th Irish Senior Waterpolo Cup takes place for the first time this year in the University of Limerick 50 metre pool.

The competition, which features both mens' and ladies' teams, begins this morning with group games and concludes with both finals on Saturday evening.

The current holders of the mens' trophy are Half Moon of Dublin, who have won in eight of the last nine years and current National League Champions.

They will be contenders again this year, along with Guinness of Dublin and Cathal Brugha of Belfast. Cathal Brugha's ladies side are the current Ladies Irish Cup holders.
