Kenny’s squash title bid

World no. 69 and Irish no. 2, Australian-born Liam Kenny, is the top ranked entry for the Munster Open Squash Championships at Cork clubs, Silversprings, Highfield and Sundays Well on the weekend of October 1-3.

His main challenger will be Derek Ryan, holder of eight national senior titles.

Other Irish players of note to have entered include Manchester-based players Patrick Foster and Phil Cullinane, both part of the Munster team which regained the interprovincial title after a gap of 27 years in Cork last season.

The most fascinating entries have been received from top Nigerian players including Ehimen Joseph Ehalen.
