The Cadettes play their first game against Scotland at the Presentation in Killarney tonight where Marian O’Callaghan, the 5’4” guard will be no stranger as she playes with St. Paul’s, showing potential to lead the Superleague team to greatness.

At the tender age of 15, Jennifer O’Connor from Castleisland is a towering 5’11” and will be needed in particular against England tomorrow when they have games against Luxembourg at 12 noon and England at 6pm.

The team is captained by Rachel Clancy who gained valuable experience in last year’s European Qualifiers and has 10 caps to her credit.

Cork players include Deirbhile O’Keeffe on the Cadettes and Shane Duggan and Thomas Dennehy on the boys under-16 team.

Deirbhile O’Keeffe is one of three sisters on international squads. She is a sister of Neassa who plays for University of Limerick and another sister, Ailbhe, is on the junior team.
