Warning for Coulthard

DAVID COULTHARD has been told to stop thinking and start driving — or face being ordered to support team-mate Kimi Raikkonen for the rest of the season.

Coulthard’s McLaren team believe the 32-year-old Scot should rely on his instincts rather than engage in too much self-analysis over his poor qualifying performances which are costing him in races.

“David is a very analytical driver and sometimes that is a useful quality. But it may not be a useful quality when you have got to put it on the line over one lap,” said managing director Martin Whitmarsh.
