O’Sullivan omission

Dear Sir,

O’Sullivan omission

Eddie was of course Director of Rugby at Buccaneers at a crucial and highly successful period of the Midlands’ club’s short history.

In 1997/98 he guided Buccs to promotion from Division Two and in 1998/99 he steered Buccs to third place in Division One.

The IRFU then recognised his abilities and, just two weeks before the AIB League was due to kick off, they offered him a position as Backs coach to the National team.

Although he was contracted to Buccaneers, we could not deny him such an opportunity and the rest is history!

Perhaps you might highlight these facts in next “Arena” (especially as Buccaneers allowed him to leave “unencumbered” to quote the IRFU).

Otherwise, it was a grand article.

Michael Silke,

PRO, Buccaneers.
