THE crisis in interprovincial hockey shows no signs of abating, despite a compromise proposal yesterday by the IHA management committee.

Having considered Munster’s ongoing refusal to participate in a revamped inter-pro series, Ulster and Leinster will meet on November 27-28 in a two-team format.

The Munster players met on Saturday and “the 18 players on the panel gave their full backing to the Munster branch decision to pull out,” branch president John Rose said yesterday. “We indicated that we were willing to play in the inter-provincial series in the old once-off format, but the IHA hasn’t budged.”
