Pietersen hit 64 between the interruptions - two for bad light and one for a call of nature - but was feeling sick at being dismissed when well set for the second time in a week.

Having struck a rapid 87 to set up a declaration in the drawn first Test against India in Nagpur, the 25-year-old Hampshire batsman fell shortly before England closed on 163 for four at the Punjab Cricket Association headquarters.
